On Friday 24th of March, our academic staff who are involved in master’s thesis supervision, had a seminar which serves to enhance their capacity in supervising MA thesis & helping students to write good thesis.

This seminar was organized by Protestant Institute of Arts and Social Sciences (PIASS) in collaboration with the University of Bamberg/Germany, and it was facilitated by Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c Annette Scheunpflug.

In this seminar, not only participants shared experiences on best practices that are being taken to make MA students enjoy their writings, but also they shared various challenges and limitation students encounter while they are writing, as well as those of supervisors encounter during their supervision. Therefore, they got an opportunity to brainstorm of possible alternatives to overcome those challenges especially learning from University of Bamberg.

This seminar is in line with PIASS staff capacity building policy, and such seminars are planned even for academic staff who are involved in supervising students who are writing dissertations at bachelor’s level.

After this seminar, on behalf of participants Prof. Dr. Penine Uwimbabazi the Vice Chancellor of PIASS thank Prof. Annette for insightful seminar and promised that PIASS is going to do their best for a positive change. "From the next time, you will find us different" she added.
