19 Book on Educational Quality Launched by PIASS
Today, Friday, March 25, 2022, PIASS in collaboration with Otto-Friedrich University of Bamberg officially launched a new series on “New Perspectives on Quality Education in Sub-Saharan Africa”. This series include 19 books that address various topics related to educational quality. Some of the topics comprise of to school leadership, teacher training, constructive feedback, classroom management, high cognitive activation by complex tasks, and good learning climate. .
What is more, these books address educational related challenges from different African countries including Rwanda, DRC, Cameroon, and Madagascar. The authors of the books are all graduates of the International Master Programme in Educational Quality (IMPEQ), a programme by University of Bamberg in Cooperation with PIASS and two other universities from Africa namely Université Evangélique du Caméroun and Université Libre des Pays des Grands Lacs (ULPGL-Goma) in Democratic Republic of Congo. During this ceremony, invited scholars saluted the step forward made by PIASS and University of Bamberg, especially regarding the huge contribution to science and from especially from the under-researched areas..
They pointed out that the content of these books is important in various aspects of education that are linked to policy, practice, as well as hints for further research. During the event, PIASS was asked to find possibilities of making the books accessible to a wider readership. Bread for the World, a German Protestant church development organization that sponsored the project was highly recognized for fruitful collaboration and financial contribution. .
