PIASS Newsletter-December 2015 - March 2016
From PIASS VC
Dear Friends, Students, Staff and Researchers worldwide
PIASS Newsletter Issue no 5 comes to you with some delay due to huge number of national and international events PIASS hosted during the period. In January, PIASS organised a 10 days first Winter School in cooperation with the University of Geneva, PIASS, ULPGL Goma and Bukavu. Staff and students interacted on the topic of Forgiveness and Reconciliation, particularly relevant in the contexts of the Great Lakes region.
From 16 to 23 February, PIASS organised an important international symposium on African Christian theologies and the Reformation legacies preceded by a three days pre-conference for students and younger theologians. Mid-February, the second promotion of IMPEQ II *International master program for quality Education) kicked off in Bamberg, Germany.
In March, PIASS organised a multidisciplinary seminar for pastors in the framework of the project sharing knowledge with communities; PIASS organised also an international seminar for civil engineers of the Great Lakes Region sponsored by Brot Fur Die Welt. Last but not least, PIASS signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Tumaini University, Makumira of Tanzania.
All these events called a high degree of intellectual engagement from the PIASS community, particularly the staff. Surely, PIASS is looking forward to strengthen its partnership and cooperation with highly rated foreign universities; to publish the outcomes of the conferences and seminars as well as to motivate PIASS academic community in new ventures, locally and internationally. This Newsletter comes to share with you the joy of these events.
Prof Elisee Musemakweli, Vice-Chancellor, PIASS
